Uploading Media

Ready to share your thunder? This chapter walks through every field on the RIFF LIFE uploader so your performance lands exactly where it should.

Where to Start

  1. Head to the Upload page (login required).
  2. Select the Album and the specific Song you are covering. This ensures your riff appears in the correct lists.

Supported Video Sources

  • Upload a file: Accepts .mpg, .mp4, .m4v, .avi, .amv, .ogv, .ogm, and .mov up to the site’s size limit.
  • Share a YouTube link: Toggle the source selector to paste a YouTube URL instead of uploading a file.

Title & Description

Give your riff a catchy Title and use the Description to tell us about your gear, your approach, or why you chose this song.

Privacy & Quiz Mode

  • Visibility switch: Choose between Public (visible to everyone) or Private (visible only to you and admins).
  • “Only for quizzes” toggle: Turn this on if you are uploading footage specifically for a quiz. This hides the riff from the main feeds and lists, keeping it secret for the challenge.

Processing

  • A progress bar will appear while your file uploads. Please keep the tab open until it reaches 100%.
  • Once uploaded, public riffs are immediately available on the Flow.
