The Complete RIFF LIFE Guide
This guide is designed to help you make the most out of our community.
Here, you can learn about the core concept of the family, and the main features of our website.
"Upload" Page
The "Upload" page allows Riffers to share their own Riffs with the community.
To access this page, click on the "Upload" button in the main navigation menu.
Selecting the Song
To upload your Riff, you first need to select the Metallica song it's about.
To do so, choose the album in the first dropdown menu, then select the song in the second one.
Adding Details
Next, give your Riff a title and add a few words to describe it in the text box.
This can help others understand what your Riff is all about, the mood you had when recorded it, or even the hardware or settings you used.
This field is for you to note whatever you want others to know about this Riff.
Riff Source
You can share your Riff in one of two ways. If the video is stored locally on your computer or mobile device, click the "Choose File" button and select the video file. Alternatively, if the video is already on YouTube, simply copy and paste the URL into the text box.
Privacy
By default, a Riff will be visible to everyone (Riffers and Visitors), without your personal information from RIFF LIFE (Your YouTube information would appear as usual in the video).
This is what we call "Public".
Nevertheless, you have the option to mark the Riff as "Private". In this case, Visitors will not be able to see the video at all.
